The Position:
We are looking for an intermediate/advanced–level Mechanical Engineer to support our current engineering team with leading projects from concept through production, including creating accurate SolidWorks 3D models, supporting sheet-metal design and manufacturing with CNC laser programming. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to support design, manufacturing, and production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical and high-level electrical assemblies from sheet-metal components with appropriate gauges and tolerances, and work with manufacturing to ensure DFM/DFA suitability, safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Create detailed manufacturing-ready documentation, including 3D models, drawings, assemblies, weldments, Bills of Materials, and SOPs.
- Assist with prototype development through testing, evaluation, and design improvements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and vendors to source components and resolve design or production issues.
- Strong familiarity with creating nestings and programs for CNC Laser/Punch combo machines, including but not limited to Amada machinery.

Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, OR a related field with equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 5+ years of design engineering experience in a sheet-metal manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years of SolidWorks experience, including complex assemblies, configurations, and sheet-metal design.
- Hands-on experience with sheet-metal fabrication processes, including CNC laser programming, forming, welding, and powder coating.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- General understanding of electrical components, and thermodynamics
- Exposure to automation or robotics in manufacturing environments is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency, including sheet-metal design, complex assemblies, configurations, manufacturing-ready drawings, and simulation tools.
- Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing processes and DFM principles.
- Strong skill set in facility planning with hands-on exposure to designing jigs and fixtures.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday 8 am - 5 pm (onsite)
- Friday 9 am - 2 pm (remote)
