We are adding to our team! We are looking for a skilled Fabrication Equipment Operator who is looking to lay down some roots. The ideal candidate is a positive, hands-on individual with experience in a custom metal fabrication facility. If you are a team player with strong fabrication knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and experience operating equipment, this position is for you!
This is a day-shift role working 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret, and understand blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to fabricate components to specifications.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Brake.
- Perform brake press operations including material setup, bending, and dimensional verification.
- Operate fabrication equipment including pyramid sheet rollers, grinders, cutting equipment, and other shop machinery.
- Perform assembly of fabricated components using various hand tools and equipment.
- Accurately measure and inspect parts throughout the fabrication process using precision measuring instruments.
- Ensure finished components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Operate forklift equipment safely for material handling and movement of components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Report equipment issues or concerns immediately.
- Move between tasks and equipment as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a Brake Press.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in custom metal fabrication.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment and using various hand tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues.
- Experience with forklift operation considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds where required.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
Starting wage for this role is in the range of $24.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience. Heidelberg Metal Inc. provides a comprehensive company-paid benefit package upon completion of the probationary period.
