Title of Position: Concrete Finisher
Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
Hourly Wage: $37.00

At Yard-At-A-Time Concrete, we deliver ready-made concrete throughout the Delta area and the Greater Vancouver District including Burnaby, Tri-Cities, Richmond, Surrey and Langley.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings or sidewalk
- Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces
- Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
- Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
- Checking formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
- Imparting desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Operating a variety of powered equipment including ride-on finishing machines and laser guided screeds
- Controlling Machines and Processes
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicle)
- Handling and moving objects for concrete blocks
- Monitoring processes, materials, or surroundings
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school is usually required
- Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or 2 years of work experience in the field
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to work in all weather
- Workers must be punctual and reliable
