Rely Construction Ltd. is looking for a motivated and professional Independent Construction Sales Representative to help us build relationships with homeowners, property owners and industry professionals throughout the Lower Mainland.
Rely Construction is a Richmond-based construction company specializing in custom homes, laneway homes, duplexes, multiplexes, residential renovations and commercial tenant improvements.
This is a commission-only independent contractor opportunity with a flexible schedule. Regular office attendance is not required. However, professional workspace and client meeting space are available at our Richmond office when needed.
Responsibilities
- Generate new construction and renovation leads.
- Respond to and follow up with prospective clients.
- Qualify potential clients based on project type, location, budget, timeline and readiness.
- Schedule client consultations, property visits and office meetings.
- Introduce prospective clients to Rely Construction’s services and construction process.
- Build relationships with homeowners, architects, designers, realtors, developers and other industry professionals.
- Attend networking events and develop local referral relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate with Rely Construction’s estimating, operations and management teams.
- Assist with preparing clients for consultations, proposals and project handoffs.
- Represent Rely Construction professionally during meetings, site visits and community events.
All estimates, pricing, discounts, construction timelines, technical advice and contractual commitments must be reviewed and approved by Rely Construction management.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work and provide services in Canada. Proof will be required before commencing work.
- Professional working proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Reliable access to a safe and insured vehicle.
- Able to travel to client meetings, properties, construction sites and networking events throughout the Lower Mainland.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Professional, organized, dependable and responsive.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a flexible schedule.
- Able to maintain accurate lead and follow-up records.
- Comfortable speaking with homeowners and industry professionals.
- Access to a mobile phone and computer.
Preferred Qualifications
Construction knowledge is beneficial but not required.
Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Residential construction or renovations
- Custom homes, laneway homes, duplexes or multiplexes
- Real estate, architecture, interior design or property development
- Construction estimating or project coordination
- Relationship-based or consultative sales
- Municipal permitting or development processes
- CRM or lead-management systems
- Networking with architects, designers, realtors, developers or property owners
Training and approved company information will be provided to help the successful representative understand Rely Construction’s services and sales process.
Compensation
This is a commission-only independent contractor position. There is no base salary or guaranteed minimum income.
Estimated annual commission earnings are approximately CA$60,000–CA$200,000, depending on individual performance, project value, project profitability and successfully collected client payments.
Commission rates are generally calculated as a percentage of the approved estimated gross profit on successfully secured projects. Higher commission rates may apply to independently sourced leads.
Commission will be paid in stages as the client signs the appropriate agreement, payments are collected and the project progresses. Full commission terms and payment milestones will be outlined in the independent contractor agreement.
Working Arrangement
This is a flexible, field-based sales opportunity. The representative will manage their own schedule and daily activities and is not required to maintain regular office hours.
Rely Construction’s office at #130–2188 No. 5 Road, Richmond, BC is available for:
- Client consultations and presentations
- Administrative work
- Collaboration with the Rely Construction team
- Sales and project-handoff meetings
- Professional workspace when needed
The representative will generally be responsible for their own vehicle, transportation expenses, mobile phone, computer, taxes and business-related expenses unless otherwise agreed in writing.
