Position Summary:
The Construction Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising construction crews on hardscaping and projects for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. This hands-on role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the company’s quality standards while maintaining low labour hours to ensure . The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, experienced in construction, and capable of motivating and managing a crew in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a valid insurable G-class driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction industry
- Previous experience in a leadership or foreman role preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and site plans
- Proficient in operating skid steers, mini excavators, compact equipment, and hand tools
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and safety procedures
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work regularly
- Use of personal mobile device for communication, time tracking, and project coordination
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead construction crews on job sites
- Coordinate daily tasks, schedules, materials, and equipment requirements
- Oversee installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, gardens, sod, and other landscape features
- Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and material installation
- Operate landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Ensure all work is completed according to company quality standards and project timelines
- Train, mentor, and support crew members to improve performance and productivity
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, suppliers, and team members
- Monitor job site safety and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment as required
- Complete daily reporting, time tracking, and site documentation
- Assist with problem-solving and adapting to changing site conditions
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as required
