Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to patient care and safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately according to established protocols.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' organs and tissues.
- Ensure patient safety by following radiation safety procedures and maintaining proper documentation.
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide compassionate care throughout the process.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, radiopharmaceuticals used, and equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results and support diagnosis.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards and hospital policies related to radiation safety and patient confidentiality.
- Keep equipment clean, calibrated, and in proper working order; report any malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications
- Certification or licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist through recognized certifying bodies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to nuclear medicine procedures.
- Prior experience in a clinical setting performing nuclear medicine imaging is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
- Compassionate communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
