Position: Early Childhood Educator/Assistant (On-call Supply)
Location: Richmond Hill
We are looking for a dynamic, caring and self-motivated supply ECE/ECA who is seeking a challenging position in a warm and professional environment. This person has to be fluent in both English and Mandarin.
The job responsibility includes but is not limited to the following:
- Greet children and parents in a warm and friendly manner at all times.
- Interacts actively with the children and encourages children’s involvement in activities.
- Assist ECE teachers to conduct and monitor activity/programs designed for children, to ensure the quality of the program and safety of children
- Prepare and serve lunch and snacks, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Arrange rooms and furniture/beds for lunch and rest periods
- Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
- Performs additional duties assigned by the Centre Supervisor or Directors according to the needs.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate the following skills:
· More than two years' working experience in licensed childcare
· Ability to successfully carry out ECE/ECA duties and any other responsibilities
· Possess excellent behavior guidance skills that include positive reinforcement and redirection strategies
· Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs
· Working knowledge of the City of Toronto Operating Criteria, Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen/Emergent curriculum
· A clear Health and Police Reference Check is mandatory prior to employment
· Hold a valid standard First Aid/CPR certificate
· Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Job requires frequent lifting up to 20 lbs; bending, kneeling, crouching.
