Overview
Second Seat Health is an Alberta-based startup seeking an experienced full-stack web developer to build a secure, mobile-friendly web application for healthcare-related service.
This is a contract opportunity to develop an MVP with the potential for ongoing work as the platform grows.
Responsibilities
- Build a secure, responsive web application that works well on desktop and mobile devices.
- Develop secure login and authentication for multiple user types.
- Create a portal for users to securely view, complete, and manage documentation.
- Build an administrator dashboard for managing users and records.
- Work collaboratively with the founder to refine features throughout development.
- Follow security and privacy best practices throughout the project.
Requirements
- Strong experience with modern web development (front end and back end).
- Experience building secure user authentication and login systems.
- Experience working with databases and sensitive information.
- Mobile-responsive web application development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts in plain language.
Project Structure
- This project will be completed on a time-and-materials (hourly) basis with regular milestone reviews and demonstrations. We are looking for a collaborative developer who values transparency and iterative development rather than a fixed-price build. All work completed under this contract, including source code, documentation, designs, databases, and related intellectual property, will become the property of Second Seat Health upon payment. The successful applicant must use repositories and cloud services that are accessible to Second Seat Health throughout development.
Preferred Qualification
- Based in Calgary or elsewhere in Alberta
- Experience developing healthcare, legal, financial, or other privacy-sensitive applications.
- Familiarity with Canadian privacy requirements, including PIPEDA.
- Experience designing scalable applications that can grow over time.
