HI Kelowna Hostel is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Front Desk Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent guest service, processing reservations, and ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk.
Responsibilities:
Welcome guests and complete check-in and check-out procedures.
Process payments and maintain accurate guest records.
Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries.
Manage reservations and update booking systems.
Provide information about hostel facilities, services, and local attractions.
Handle guest concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
Monitor room availability and coordinate with housekeeping staff.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
Follow hostel policies and procedures regarding guest safety and security.
Assist with general administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Previous customer service or hospitality experience is an asset but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn reservation systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
French would be an asset
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
