**Seeking Real Estate Development / Property Management industry experience ONLY**
Our client, a boutique real estate developer, is seeking a Senior Accountant. You will be responsible for performing a broad range of corporate accounting tasks across multiple entities, supporting financial reporting, ensures compliance with internal controls, company procedures and regulatory requirements, and contributes to ongoing process improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate Accounting
Prepare financial reports, analysis, and month/quarter/year-end reporting
Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements
Manage monthly billings and review accounts payable
Assist with credit card reconciliations, treasury, cash management, and payroll backup
Review work prepared by junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed
Review rent rolls, P& L trends, and property management month-end files
Create Excel-based reports and dashboards and recommend updates for new regulations
Support ad hoc financial planning and reporting requests
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare corporate T2 tax returns and maintain accurate reporting for tax authorities
Review partnership T5013 filings to ensure they align with internal records
Prepare, review, and file government returns, including GST filings
Support external audits, reviews, and tax-related inquiries as needed
Processes, Controls & Documentation
Document and update accounting procedures and internal controls
Help improve processes, workflows, and overall efficiency within corporate accounting and reporting
Support special projects and other process improvement initiatives as needed
