Hot Oven is hiring a Bakery Line Cook at the Covent Garden Market in the heart of downtown, London, Ontario.
We are looking for one reliable, hard-working teammate who is coordinated, punctual, calm under pressure, and able to keep quality consistent during busy shifts. Kitchen, bakery, line cook, or quick-service experience is an asset, but not required. Any blue-collar or hands-on work experience where coordination, attention to detail, and consistency were important is also a strong asset.
Pay: Training starts at $18/hr + tips. Once trained and competent in the role, pay increases to $20/hr + tips, with further raises based on reliability, ability, and hours worked, up to the current role maximum of $26/hr + tips.

Hours: Approximately 24-30 hours/week to start
Required availability:
You must be available every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for shifts scheduled anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Shifts will usually be 6–10 hours and vary depending on the day's busyness and needs. Additional weekday availability is a strong asset, especially for covering shifts as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Baking burek and keeping product quality consistent
- Stocking displays so they are full and ready for customers
- Handling customers and payments
- Opening, closing, and cleaning the baking area
- Multitasking during busy periods
- Solving small day-to-day problems as they come up
- Food preparation, packaging, and mixing ingredients
- Washing dishes and keeping counters, equipment, and the store clean
The ideal candidate is:
- Hard-working and punctual with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen, food service, or hands-on work environment
- Comfortable lifting 20 kg and standing 6–8 hrs
- A strong communicator and team player
- Calm, coordinated, and able to work independently once trained
Nice to haves:
- Ontario Food Handler Certification
- Driver’s licence + vehicle or lives within close proximity to the Market
- Kitchen, bakery, quick-service, line cook, prep, warehouse, trades, production, or other coordinated hands-on work experience
