Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Flatbed Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves safely transporting freight across various routes while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Operate flatbed trucks to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains, and other securing devices to ensure safe transit of cargo
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs; report any mechanical issues promptly
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading freight
- Comply with all federal, state, and company regulations related to commercial driving and transportation
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks and freight transportation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently (training provided if needed)
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques for heavy loads
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and working in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Forklift certification or experience is preferred but not mandatory; training available for qualified candidates
Pay: $20.10-$36.61 per hour
