MidCanada Reinforcing Inc. began as a family business in 1994. Now known as MidCanada Rebar Ltd. Starting as small steel fabricators providing reinforcing steel, residential steel beams and teleposts. MidCanada joined the Salit Group of Companies in 2025.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Worker to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced reinforcing steel fabrication environment. This role involves operating various equipment, creation and quality of structural steel reinforcing beams and tele-posts, and supporting the overall production process. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge, basic math skills, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and attend to manual and automated equipment
- Operate overhead cranes to move, load and offload materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned work areas.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Complete Housekeeping duties as required.
- Provide quality and customer focused workmanship.
- Comply with all safety procedures including participating in safety meetings, inspections, maintenance logs, and fire drills.
- Welding as required.
What You’ll Need:
- Ability to work in a fast paced & stressful environment, completing multiple orders at a time, while maintaining a positive and calm demeanor.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Overhead crane operator experience is an asset.
- Welding experience is an asset.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, written and orally.
- Ability to operate a steel band saw and paint sprayer.
- CSA approved Steel Toed Work Boots.
- Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
- Good understanding of customer service for both internal and external customers
