Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and welfare, providing a safe and clean environment for pets while ensuring their comfort and happiness. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our kennel facility, contributing to the overall well-being of the animals in our care.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and cats.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the management team.
- Assist with bathing and grooming as needed to ensure pets are clean and well-groomed.
- Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and answering questions about their pets’ care.
- Support the team with heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or larger animals when necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the role.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
