Pink Moon Cafe food truck is currently seeking an experienced barista for a part time turning full time role. We are a fully plant based food truck located in North Courtenay, operating daily from 10-4. This position is ideal for someone looking to start out with casual hours (10-15 hours weekly) shifting towards more hours (30+ hours weekly) this fall, as many of our seasonal staff go back to school.
The ideal candidate will therefore have some flexibility in their schedule, with an eagerness to learn and take on more responsibility as time goes on.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
- taking orders and helping customers navigate the menu
- preparing specialty coffees and smoothies on order
- preparing menu items start to finish i.e. veggie burgers, bowls, etc., and basic food prep
- occasional baking tasks, such as following a recipe to make cookies or muffins, etc.
- keeping an organized and foodsafe workspace at all times
- daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning tasks
- updating the POS system, Doordash systems and maintaining the inventory app daily
- occasional dishwashing/closing shifts, as needed
The ideal candidate would be someone willing to start out in a lead barista role, growing into somewhat of a floor manager role this fall, working mainly solo shifts in the food truck throughout the off-season.
Wage is very much dependent on skill set, meaning if we can delegate more tasks onto you and feel confident leaving you solo in the food truck, we are happy to pay accordingly. The position will likely start out in the $20-$22 hourly range plus tips once trained, with room for growth here.
