Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with the ability to create visually stunning and delicious desserts. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, decorating cakes, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. The Pastry Chef will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests through innovative pastry creations and excellent customer service.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, including cake decorating techniques
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety and handling regulations
- Assist in menu development for seasonal or special occasion desserts
- Package baked items for retail sale or catering orders with attention to presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of desserts during service hours
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests regarding dessert options when applicable
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong skills in cake decorating, food preparation, and baking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with kitchen equipment maintenance and cleaning protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Creative mindset with an eye for presentation and design in pastry decoration
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in bakery or restaurant settings, is preferred
- Certification or training in culinary arts or pastry arts is a plus
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
