Position Summary
The Sales Associate (Budtender) plays a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping customers, excel in fast-paced environment, and take initiative without requiring constant supervision. Successful candidates will combine strong product knowledge, sales ability, and professionalism with a commitment to maintain high standards on the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by creating a welcoming and professional environment
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all cannabis regulations and company policies
- Provide knowledgeable product recommendations tailored to customer needs and preferences
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) while maintaining high customer service standards
- Operate confidently and effectively during both independent and team-based shifts
- Support store objectives through strong teamwork, communication, and accountability
- Follow all store policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance requirements
- Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, restocking, and product organization
- Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandizing standards
- Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to the overall success of store operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Frequent lifting, moving, and organizing products and supplies
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25-30 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
Qualifications
- Must meet all provincial eligibility requirements for employment in a cannabis retail environment
- Valid CannSell Certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail sales experience required; cannabis retail experience considered an asset
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and available to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills and proficiency using POS systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and operational procedures
