ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Pharmacist is responsible for the appropriate and accurate distribution of medications to all patients as well as the implementation of clinical activities under the direction of the Designated Manager.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhere to the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Canadian Pharmacists and OCP standards of practice including but not limited to, all laws, regulations, and by-laws governing Pharmacy (e.g., audits, privacy, documentation, signage, billing and reporting).

Ensure the completion of professional development activities as required by CATC and for the maintenance of appropriate skills and knowledge (learning portfolio).

Ensure that patient care is provided according to evidence-based practices, which includes creating and maintaining a patient focused environment.

Responds efficiently to referrals from CATC clinics and community partners.

Provides appropriate health care information to all patients.

Ensures all patients follow CATC clinic and pharmacy guidelines for program participation.

Participate in clinical and community initiatives to provide the best possible patient care and position CATC as a first-class provider of addiction treatment services.

Provide annual flu injections

Ensure accuracy and efficiency in the preparation of all patient prescriptions.

Establish, foster, and maintain good relationships with CATC physicians and clinic staff to provide optimal patient care and encourage patient acquisition and retention.

Ensure staff members are provided with the appropriate tools and resources required to deliver safe and effective patient care by providing guidance and expert advice to all pharmacy staff and ensuring that CATP/CATC best practice procedures and policies are implemented and respected.

Arrange pharmacy staffing and workflow to enable members to maintain the accepted standard of pharmacy practice and to deliver safe and effective patient care including, but not limited to, ensuring that all pharmacy staff adhere to professional and legal requirements.

Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR training up to date
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

Part A Pharmacist Registration with the OCP.
-
CAMH Opioid Dependence Treatment Certification is required.
-
Experience using Kroll Pharmacy Software is preferred.

Valid First Aid and CPR Certification is required and must be maintained throughout the employment (equivalent of St. John Ambulance or Red Cross).

Injection Certification is required

Demonstrated patient-centered pharmacy practice skills.

Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
