Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless and positive service experience. This role combines technical knowledge with excellent communication skills to accurately assess customer needs, recommend appropriate services, and facilitate efficient repair processes. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is a plus, but a strong mechanical knowledge and passion for automotive repair are essential. The Service Advisor will also be responsible for upselling additional services and handling cash transactions, contributing to the overall success of the service department.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming environment.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues.
- Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer needs and vehicle diagnostics.
- Prepare estimates and get approval on work orders
- Order parts from supplier and make sure shop is organized and jobs are ready
- Prepare detailed repair orders, including recommended services and estimated timelines.
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services that align with customer needs and vehicle requirements.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and ensure satisfaction upon completion of service.
- Maintain detailed records of service history and customer interactions in the dealership management system.
- Stay informed about new automotive technologies, repair procedures, and dealership promotions to enhance service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in an automotive dealership or repair shop environment is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including familiarity with automotive repair processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-experts.
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services or products to customers.
- Cash handling experience ensuring accuracy in transactions.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
