About the Role
We are a warm, respectful family of four with two young boys, living in British Properties, West Vancouver—one of the city's most prestigious, safest, and most beautiful residential neighborhoods.
We are looking for a full-time Live-In Family Assistant whose primary responsibility is housekeeping and household management, with light childcare support when needed.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys maintaining a clean, organized home and appreciates living in a peaceful, high-quality environment.
Our children attend school during the day, so childcare is only needed occasionally, including:
- School holidays or Pro-D Days
- Occasionally after school
- Date nights or when parents are briefly away
- Supervising the children in a safe and caring manner
The majority of this position focuses on housekeeping, home organization, meal preparation, and supporting the daily operation of our household.
Applicants who enjoy cooking and meal preparation are especially welcome, although professional cooking experience is not required.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 5 days per week (schedule arranged by mutual agreement)
- Approximately 8 working hours per day
- Split-shift schedule
A typical day includes:
Morning
- Prepare children's lunches or snacks when needed
- Light meal preparation
- Kitchen clean-up after breakfast
- General housekeeping
- Laundry, folding and ironing
- Cleaning bedrooms and bathrooms
- Vacuuming, mopping and dusting
- Organizing children's toys and living spaces
Midday
- Approximately 2–3 hours of personal break time
Evening
- Light meal preparation before dinner
- Kitchen clean-up after dinner
- General tidying
- Preparing the home for the next day
Some flexibility is appreciated depending on the family's schedule.
Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Household Management
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of the home
- Vacuuming, mopping and dusting
- Kitchen cleaning and organization
- Bathroom cleaning and sanitizing
- Laundry, folding and ironing
- Changing bed linens
- Organizing closets and storage areas
- Household organization
- Grocery organization and pantry management
- Garbage, recycling and compost
- Light outdoor tidying (front entrance, patio, etc.)
- Meal preparation and food prep (preferred)
Light Childcare Support
- Supervise the children when required
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being
- Prepare simple meals and snacks
- Help during school holidays or occasional evenings
- Keep children's bedrooms and play areas clean and organized
Accommodation
This position includes a private walk-out lower-level suite with its own separate entrance.
Although it is technically located on the lower level of the home, it is not a typical underground basement. The suite has a private entrance, plenty of natural light, and feels bright, open, and comfortable.

Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Trustworthy and dependable
- Friendly, respectful, and professional
- Comfortable working in a family environment
- Able to communicate confidently in English
- Comfortable with a live-in arrangement
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping experience
- Childcare experience is an asset
- Meal preparation or cooking experience is an asset
- Non-smoker
- No illegal drug use
- Criminal Record Check may be requested
Work Eligibility
Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Canada.
A valid Canadian Work Permit or Open Work Permit is required.
