Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (with 30-minute unpaid lunch) - 40 hours per week

Company Overview
As a Facilitator at Sky High Summer Camp, you will lead a small group of children in a structured recreational program that supports positive behaviour, social development, and engagement. You will create a safe, consistent, and inclusive environment for children entering grades 2 through 6, with a focus on supporting a range of behavioural and self-regulation needs. Working under the guidance of the Lead Facilitator, you will implement daily programming and use consistent behaviour support strategies to promote participation, confidence, and positive peer interactions.
Summary
Currently enrolled in or completed post-secondary education in Behavioural Science,
Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children, preferably in camps, recreation, or support-based
settings
- Basic understanding of behaviour management strategies and child development
- Ability to follow structured plans and implement consistent approaches
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, flexible, and calm approach when supporting children
- Understanding of learning disabilities and ADHD is an asset
Duties
- Lead a small group of children through daily camp activities and routines
- Implement structured recreational activities that support social skills and selfregulation
- Use consistent behaviour strategies (e.g., positive reinforcement, redirection, prompting)
- Respond to and support challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner
- Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities, interests, and behavioural needs
- Maintain a safe, organized, and predictable environment for your group
- Supervise children during all program activities, including transitions and outdoor play
- Track attendance and contribute to basic behaviour and program documentation
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Facilitator and team members
- Support a positive camp experience for all participants
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or completed post-secondary education in Behavioural Science,
- Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children, preferably in camps, recreation, or support-based
settings

Conditions of Employment:
- Satisfactory, up-to-date Police Clearance required
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to complete required training in play leadership and healthy child development
- Must meet the criteria for Canada Summer Jobs Program Youth Eligibility:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; -
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred;
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
