Position Summary
The Summer Student will support the daily operations of the Percy’s Hospice Boutique. This role is ideal for a friendly, organized, and community-minded student who enjoys working with the public and supporting a meaningful cause. The student will help create a welcoming shopping experience while assisting with fundraising efforts that support hospice care services in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate cash register and process sales transactions
- Sort, price, tag, and display donated items
- Keep the boutique clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation
- Promote special sales, events, and fundraising initiatives
- Support volunteers and staff with daily tasks
- Ensure donations are handled respectfully and appropriately
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education and returning to school in the fall
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working with the public and volunteers
- Basic computer and cash handling skills are considered an asset
- Interest in community service, retail, fundraising, or healthcare is an asset
