Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Glass, Window & Door Installation Helper to join our team. In this role, you will assist experienced lead installers with installing, repairing, and replacing glass, windows, and doors across various residential and commercial projects. This position requires a strong work ethic, a basic understanding of construction practices, and a willingness to learn how to interpret drawings and handle glass safely. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on trade experience and grow into a skilled glazier/installer.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation Support: Assist lead installers in the safe handling, lifting, and placement of new windows, doors, and commercial glass panels.
- Site Preparation & Demolition: Safely remove and dispose of old, damaged glass, doors, and frames, and prepare openings for the new installations.
- Material Management: Measure, transport, and organize glass panels, frames, hand tools, and power equipment around the job site.
- Weatherproofing: Apply caulking, sealants, and insulation materials cleanly to ensure proper weatherproofing and energy efficiency under the direction of the lead.
- Blueprint Reading: Assist in reviewing blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings to understand job specifications and layout needs.
- Job Site Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by constantly organizing tools, sweeping up debris, and disposing of waste properly.
- Basic Carpentry & Adjustments: Use basic hand and power tools to assist with minor framing adjustments or modifications prior to installation.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in general construction, carpentry, demolition, or a physical labor role is highly preferred but not required.
- Tool Familiarity: Comfortable using standard hand tools, tape measures, power drills, and caulking guns.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects (glass and door frames), stand for long periods, and comfortably work on ladders, scaffolding, or at heights.
- Safety Mindset: A strong commitment to workplace safety protocols, especially regarding the safe handling and transportation of heavy glass products.
- Teamwork & Attitude: Strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude toward learning the trade.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites or the shop is an asset.
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
