Job Summary
Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Senior Accountant is a key member of a lean, high-performing finance team. You will work alongside our existing Senior Accountant in a peer structure — both roles carry the same responsibilities, and the team cross-trains to ensure full coverage and continuity across all finance functions. This is a high-visibility contract role with direct exposure to the full finance function of a growing licensed brand.
This is a fixed-term contract position of approximately 20 months.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of working papers and supporting schedules
- Own weekly cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
- Manage royalty calculations across multiple licensing agreements
- Review and approve vendor invoices captured via accounts payable automation software
- Process vendor payments including EFTs, wires, and payment runs
- Oversee accounts receivable functions
- Process multi-jurisdiction payroll
- Prepare and file Canadian and US statutory tax returns
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain KPI dashboards and financial reports to support business decision-making
- Support the preparation of the annual budget
- Support ad-hoc finance projects as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation (or candidate in final stages of completion)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage high transaction volumes and prioritize competing deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented with a collaborative, solutions-focused attitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Assets
- Experience with NetSuite and/or Shopify
- Background in a product-based, e-commerce, or licensing/royalty environment
- Experience with multi-currency transactions and cross-border Canada/US compliance
