About the Role:
Join our Production Department as a Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining equipment, performing repairs, and helping ensure that production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to work across mechanical, electrical, and structural maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities in areas such as carpentry, mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical.
- Conduct scheduled inspections to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure continuous production.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment.
- Assist with machine and tooling improvements, as well as mechanical and electrical plant upgrades.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Department to improve machinery availability and effectiveness.
- Participate in root cause analysis and reliability improvement projects.
- Support process improvement initiatives and project implementation.
- Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance service as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, or general maintenance (Certified Millwright is an asset but not required).
- Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and structural maintenance.
- Experience with machine assembly, installations, bearings, and alignment techniques.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office; knowledge of CNC, AutoCAD, or 3D visualization software is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and imperial/metric measurement systems.
Working Conditions:
- Physically active role: ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and operate tools.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Overtime may be required.
