A Boring Mill CNC Programmer/Machinist is required to program, set up and operate a Titan Boring Mill TNC 530 Control by Heidenhain. Must be able to program with Mastercam 3 axis software, to read and interpret drawings with attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Create programs as required from solid models and from scratch
- Trouble shoot and edit program as required.
- Select tools and edit program as required
- Measure offsets
- Inspect all finished product and compare details to specifications on blueprint and work orders
- Work in compliance to company documentation and quality system
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years experience CNC Programming and setting up of boring mills, in a heavy machining environment
- Machine large-scale and complex components weighing up to 2000lbs while maintaining dimensional accuracy and geometric tolerances
- Experience performing multiple daily custom machine set ups.
- Perform machining operations including boring, drilling, milling, facing, tapping, and fitting as required by production demands.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely for handling and positioning large components in coordination with rigging personnel.
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment;
- Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with little supervision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills essential
- Ability to operate Haas, Fadal, Rifa and Dah Lih machines and Fanuc controllers an asset.
- CNC lathe experiences an asset.
This is not a CNC operator position.
