Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter Helper to join our construction and restoration team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled painters with preparation, application, and finishing tasks while developing essential skills in blueprint reading, schematics, and the use of various hand and power tools. Prior experience in construction or related fields is a plus but not required. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication to ensure high-quality results on every project.
Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, caulking, and masking for painting projects
- Support painters in applying paint, stain, or coatings on residential, commercial, or industrial structures
- Handle rigging and setup of scaffolding or ladders to access work areas safely
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, sanders, and sprayers under supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to assist with project planning and execution
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety protocols
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing or repairs as needed for restoration projects
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure customer satisfaction and project clarity
Experience
- Prior experience in construction, restoration, or painting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with construction painting techniques including residential, commercial, or industrial applications is a plus
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and schematics interpretation is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage time efficiently are essential for success in this role
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, rigging, caulking, carpentry, and schematics will support your growth within the team
