Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our retail store. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves supervising staff, managing sales processes, and ensuring exceptional customer service to promote store growth and operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager will play a vital role in team development, merchandising, and maintaining a positive shopping environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and training & development initiatives for team members.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays, pricing products, and managing inventory levels.
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping to ensure accuracy and security.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and manage store budgets effectively.
- Implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Conduct interviews, participate in hiring processes, and supervise onboarding of new employees.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Skills
- Proven leadership experience with supervising teams in a retail environment.
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases.
- Expertise in negotiation, merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management.
- Experience with recruiting, training & development, and employee performance management.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and store management best practices.
- Administrative experience including budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, and recordkeeping.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through motivation, coaching, and team management techniques.
