We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Auto Parts Counterperson to join our team.2 years minimum experience as a Counterperson This role involves assisting customers in selecting the right auto parts, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive parts, excellent communication skills, and experience in retail sales or dealership environments. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with automotive repair processes are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct auto parts and accessories based on their vehicle needs
- Maintain accurate inventory records, manage stock levels, and perform order fulfillment efficiently
- Operate POS systems to process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and payment processing
- Provide excellent customer service through clear communication, phone etiquette, and professional interaction
- Support sales efforts through upselling, product recommendations, and promoting relevant automotive services or accessories
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely parts delivery and support maintenance operations
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Utilize marketing techniques to promote products and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts specifications, and industry trends to assist customers effectively
Requirements
- Prior dealership experience or retail sales background preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and order fulfillment processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and handle customer inquiries professionally
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes, CMMS systems, or maintenance procedures is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and record keeping
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, sales management, or marketing is beneficial
- Strong math skills for order processing and transaction accuracy
