Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator to maintain our Quality Management System, manage document compliance, and support audit readiness in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality System & Document Control: Maintain controlled quality documentation, master document registers, and manage revision, approval, and archival workflows.
- Audit Preparation & Compliance: Coordinate documentation for SQF, CFIA, customer, and internal audits. Conduct facility inspections and follow up on non-conformances.
- CAPA & Record Verification: Review QA records for completeness, track corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure timely resolution across departments.
- Supplier & Training Administration: Manage supplier approvals, COA tracking, and maintain internal HACCP/food safety training schedules
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years in food manufacturing quality assurance or quality systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HACCP principles, SQF code, GMP, and CFIA regulations.
- Certifications: Formal training/certification in HACCP or Internal Auditing preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Excel and Word; strong English communication (written & verbal); sharp attention to detail
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Workstyle: Combination of office work and regular time spent on the production floor.
- Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting of archive boxes (up to 25 lbs) and standard office computer work.
- PPE & Hours: Requires wearing safety gear (PPE) on the plant floor; occasional extended hours during audit periods.
