Cook St. Liquor is a local, independent liquor store that services Cook Street Village and the surrounding neighbourhoods with an eclectic selection of wine, craft beer, spirits and coolers. We provide our customers with a welcoming and engaging shopping environment, which in turn creates a casual, while active and structured, working environment.
A Sales Clerk is a customer service focused position, and is responsible for following the standards and protocols set by Management. Friendly and knowledgeable customer service is the priority, while ensuring the store’s stock levels are healthy, and product presentation is maintained throughout the shift.
Duties and responsibilities
- ensuring Serving It Right protocols are being met at all times
- capable of operating the store’s point-of-sale machines, processing payments accurately & efficiently
- providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service at all times
- staying aware of your surroundings and tracking the potential for theft or altercation
- following store guidelines when it comes to theft and altercation prevention
- receiving & processing empty container returns from customers
- gathering products according to Online or over-the-phone orders, packaging them safely for delivery
- stocking of primary liquor orders received, under store protocols in locations determined by Management
- ensuring the store inventory is presentable, by being faced and stocked efficiently throughout the shift
- stocking of Pantry area’s food and accessory items on a nightly basis, including the upkeep of flower buckets
- performing opening duties, cash out and closing duties accurately and efficiently
Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- current Serving It Right certification
- a base-line knowledge of alcoholic beverages
- honesty, punctuality and reliability
- the ability to work cohesively as part of a team, supporting coworker’s ability to serve customers
- the ability to handle multiple customers at once, and work independently
- the ability and willingness to work flexible hours and shifts
- the ability to work quickly, meet company expectations and store standards
- the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
