Medcor Canada is looking to hire an EMS Manager located in Central Alberta to join our operations department overseeing medical teams for our construction projects across the country.
This is a Full-Time position that combines work from home flexibility with occasional on-site presence at projects across Canada and our Corporate office in Ponoka.
This position leads the Construction division at Medcor Canada by providing health navigation for our clients and direction to our medical teams at site. The CHS Operations Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations, support for staffing and scheduling, partners with the Director of Operations to control expenses effectively and manages client relationships. The position provides supervision and leadership to a medical team of full-time, part-time and contract staff at multiple sites across Canada. In collaboration with the Department of Clinical Affairs and supervising physicians, this position helps support and manage the clinical mission and objectives of the projects.
Ability to travel is required, at minimum, 25% of the time throughout the various worksites across Canada.
This position’s responsibilities will also include collaborative work with Medcor Canada’s Recruiting, HR, Clinical Affairs, Training, IT, and Legal departments, on-site medical clinic staff, client representatives, and others on a regular basis. The day-to-day role also includes providing administrative support to operations and other duties assigned.
A typical day in the life of Medcor Canada’s Operations Manager:
Responsible for the management and leadership of staff including:
- Supervision of staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, documented & timely feedback, performance appraisal, developing goals, and developing procedures to ensure achievement of goals.
- Assist team with problem solving and be solution focused.
- Emphasis on collaborative, inclusive, team culture.
- Ensure the proper use of electronic medical records by staff, including accurate data entry, understanding the output for reporting and ability to analyze the site specific data and provide analysis and recommendations to the client.
- Build strong and nurturing relationships with Medcor Canada advocates.
- Promotes positive patient experiences throughout all medical sites.
Set up of new & existing projects including:
- Coordination with HR Administrator for recruitment needs.
- Coordination of supplies and understanding on site of supply management process.
- Identify training requirements (corporate and client) & ensure compliance.
- Coordination with client IT department for computer requirements and needs.
- Timesheet requirements & accounting procedures.
- Fleet management – requirements and logistics
Responsible for managing local and corporate client relationships including:
- Develop a professional and personal relationship that creates trust and respect.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively identifies solutions.
- Promote Medcor Canada's values, understanding the organizational and political environment of the sites.
- Conduct local client and clinic needs assessment on a periodic basis.
- Understand contractual obligations & history of client relationships.
- Determine how the client will evaluate our performance.
- Serve as a client advisor on clinic operational issues.
- Develop and strengthen Medcor Canada's relationships with local and corporate client leadership.
- Develops relationships with client executives, and other local health care providers as needed.
· Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
· Accountable for assuring standard operating procedures are in place and utilized in clinics in addition to growth in clinic volumes and services.
· Assist with providing operational and clinical training at sites with support from Medcor Training Department.
· Work closely with all departments of Medcor Canada corporate team to share information and improve the quality of our clinic services and solve challenges in the field.
· Contributes to the marketing/sales of Medcor Canada services including:
- Entry into other client locations and renewal of contracts.
- Provide recommendations to client(s) of other Medcor Canada service offerings.
- Drives CHS division marketing strategy to align with operational objectives.
· Institutes and participates in regular staff meetings and operations team meetings.
· Works to foster a culture of collaboration and accountability between Medcor Canada advocates, client associates, vendors, and local health providers to maintain constructive working relationships.
· Contributes to Construction Health and Wellness annual budget planning and quarterly review(s).
· Strategic planning of Construction Health and Wellness division in collaboration with Director of Operations and President.
You must have:
- Relevant work experience as an EMS manager.
- 2-4 years of practical experience as a PCP or ACP with management/supervisory experience as part of that background
- Working knowledge of occupational health and wellness and workers compensation.
- Fleet management and maintenance experience.
- Drug and Alcohol knowledge and experience.
- Budget and strategic planning experience.
- Be able to multi-task, be prepared, prioritize, follow-through, pay attention to details and think critically daily.
- Be available and willing to travel to Ponoka, AB office and shop as well as client sites across Canada.
