JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of both warehouse and delivery functions at Legends Haul. This position is responsible for accurate order picking, inventory handling, safe product storage, and timely delivery of products to customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately using pick lists and hand-held scanners where applicable
- Securely stage orders on carts or pallets to minimize damage during transit
- Handle meat and food products in compliance with food safety regulations, storage, and rotation standards
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts, cycle counts, and discrepancy reporting
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and strappers safely and efficiently
- Complete and maintain all required warehouse documentation including receiving forms, pick lists, and shipping labels
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment while adhering to health and safety protocols
Delivery Operations
- Safely operate company-owned vans or trucks to deliver products to restaurants, retailers, and food service partners
- Execute delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and maximize productivity
- Load and unload products carefully, ensuring order accuracy and product integrity
- Verify delivery documentation, collect invoices, and manage returned products according to temperature and storage requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
Customer Service & Communication
- Provide professional, friendly, and reliable customer service during deliveries
- Address customer questions or concerns promptly and escalate issues when required
- Communicate immediately with internal teams regarding delivery issues, incorrect orders, or product returns
- Report customer feedback to appropriate departments for follow-up
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and transportation regulations
- Adhere to workplace safety standards, food handling procedures, and contamination prevention practices
- Promote a safety-first mindset in both warehouse and delivery operations
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- Previous warehouse and/or delivery experience preferred (food industry experience is a requirement)
- Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and local routes in the lower mainland
- Ability to lift and move heavy meat products (up to 60–70 lbs) regularly
- Physically able to stand, bend, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible availability, including weekends or extended hours when required
