FLEET MAINTENANCE HELPER – FULL TIME

JOB SUMMARY
Cooney's Trucking is hiring a Yard Assistant to support our shop team in Calgary. You'll work hands-on with our team keeping a busy fleet of dump trucks and trailers road-ready. This is a ground-floor opportunity with real growth potential for the right person.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance, check tires, air filters, lights, topping up fluids and minor repairs
- Track and schedule oil changes and preventive maintenance across all equipment
- Manage parts ordering and pickup, maintaining shop inventory
- Keep the shop organized, clean, and running efficiently
- Communicate maintenance updates and findings to the office for tracking
- Support day-to-day operations as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable — shows up and follows through
- Valid driver's license
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter who takes initiative without being asked twice
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience (shop, farm, construction, automotive)
- Familiarity with heavy trucks, trailers, or equipment
COMPENSATION
- Starting pay: $22/hr
- Full-time, stable hours
- Direct path to increased responsibility and pay as skills develop
