The Intermodal Coordinator Dispatch (ICD) is responsible for managing US based city drivers as they relate to the intermodal business segment. The ICD will plan and dispatch city drivers throughout the US network and will be expected to manage his/her fleet to meet expected LOS. The ICD is expected to uphold Bison’s policies and procedures while managing drivers, drayage providers, and equipment.
Specific Responsibilities include:Dispatch and Driver Relations:
- Planning and assigning US city drivers each day, verbally verifying load assignments, and ensuring drivers have the information they need ahead of time in order to complete each assignment safely, and within service requirements.
- Updating Visual Dispatch and providing service updates to the customer service representative as it relates to ETA changes, possible delays, or issue at a customer.
- Answering driver phone calls, and satellite messages in a timely manner
- Ensuring city drivers follow Bison procedure and expectation.
- Managing the utilization of each driver, making sure that city drivers are meeting minimum efficiency goals.
- Processing payroll weekly, and manage any reimbursements or advances for city drivers.
- Assigning and tendering loads to drayage partners in the US, ensuring the draymen receives all applicable load information while rates and POs are updated in Maverick.
- Sourcing additional drayage partners and negotiate rates.
Equipment Management:
- Monitoring equipment pools at customers, drop yards, and rail yards to ensure equipment is turning in a timely manner.
- Assigning the correct equipment type to each load per asset network defined by manager.
- Reporting damage to containers to the manager and attended to Ensure equipment is spotted at the correct location in Visual Dispatch.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years' experience in dispatch, planning, transportation, logistics, or a related role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, collaborate with, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Shift: Monday to Friday, standard business hours.
