Overview
DNA Autoworks is looking for a dedicated and motivated 3rd/4th Year Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. We are a full service automotive shop servicing all makes and models of vehicles, including classic and modified vehicles.
This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, modification, restoration and minor fabrication.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a passion for automotive repair, and a desire to grow their mechanic expertise. This paid position is designed to support your progression toward becoming a fully licensed mechanic.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing vehicles using various tools and equipment
- Assist in OPI, and insurance inspections
- Assist in engine rebuilds and swaps / conversions
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to disassemble and assemble vehicle components accurately
- Conduct welding and other fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Lift heavy parts and equipment safely during repair procedures
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times
- Support the team in troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and technical schematics
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations effectively
Requirements
- Applicant must be a Canadian citizen and be able to communicate fluently in English
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive systems and components, familiarity with classic and modified vehicles would be an asset.
- Applicant will have their own hand tools
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics for diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with welding, assembly, and maintenance tasks is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, this is a small independent shop communication and teamwork is essential to your success in this role.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
