Job Overview:
We are seeking a Sushi Roller / Maker to assist in preparing a variety of sushi items with consistency and care. This role is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on sushi preparation experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sushi Preparation:
- Prepare maki rolls, hand rolls, and basic sushi items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with basic fish and vegetable prep (cutting, portioning, organizing ingredients)
- Experienced with Salmon fish cutting
- Prepare and handle sushi rice, ensuring proper texture and seasoning
- Assemble orders efficiently while maintaining presentation quality
Quality & Sanitation:
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
- Ensure ingredients are fresh and properly stored (FIFO practices)
Teamwork & Support:
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service
- Assist with restocking ingredients and basic inventory tasks
- Support the team during busy service periods
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sushi preparation or a similar kitchen role
- Knowledge of sushi rolling and ingredient handling
- Good knife skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Team player with good communication skills
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada
