Refrigeration Reefer Technician (Junior & Senior)

Work Schedule: In-office, 5 days per week
Compensation: $28.00–$45.00 per hour (based on experience)
About the Role: Refrigeration Reefer Technician (Junior & Senior)
We are looking for motivated and dependable Junior and Senior Reefer Technicians to join our client in Brampton, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical, HVAC, or refrigeration experience who are looking to build a long-term career in the transportation refrigeration industry.
As a Reefer Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing refrigerated trailers, containers, and generator sets (gensets). You will work alongside an experienced team in a fast-paced environment where quality workmanship and safety are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities: Refrigeration Reefer Technician (Junior & Senior)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration systems on trailers, containers, and gensets.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
- Repair and replace refrigeration components.
- Identify and repair refrigeration leaks.
- Perform soldering, brazing, and welding repairs as required.
- Prepare repair estimates and recommend necessary repairs.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications: Refrigeration Reefer Technician (Junior & Senior)
- Factory training on refrigeration equipment is an asset.
- Junior Technician: Mechanical, HVAC, or refrigeration experience is preferred.
- Senior Technician: Mechanical, HVAC, or refrigeration experience is required.
- Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Experience using hand tools is required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a "go-getter" mentality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs (12 kg).
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
