Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Equipment Maintenance Assistant to support our maintenance manager in ensuring the optimal operation of various machinery and equipment. We are seeking a retired or semi-retired individual with equipment maintenance experience. We are also open to a less experienced individual who is a quick learner. This position has the opportunity to become a full-time role as our existing Maintenance Manager is nearing retirement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of industrial machinery and equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to diagnose issues and perform repairs
- Support welding, electrical, and mechanical tasks as needed
- Conduct heavy lifting to move or position equipment parts safely
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities
- Maintain organized work areas and document maintenance activities accurately
- Support the team with inventory management of parts and tools
- Collaborate with technicians on complex repairs, including automotive or Caterpillar equipment when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience with welding equipment, electrical systems, or mechanical repairs is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and schematics is highly desirable
- Previous mechanic or automotive repair experience is a plus
- Experience working with sales or supporting technical consultations can be helpful but is not required
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work with various mechanical systems
