Hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to join a high-precision machine shop serving the aerospace industry. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about CNC machining, takes pride in quality, and enjoys working on complex parts in a tight-tolerance environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up from scratch, design fixtures, program, and operate CNC lathes, mills, and 5-axis machining centers
- Work on multiple and complex parts in a high-precision, tight-tolerance environment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and CAD files
- Program CNC machines using Mastercam software
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment
- Document work in accordance with AS9100D quality management system requirements
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of CNC machining experience
- Strong experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills
- Experience with 5-axis machining is required
- Must have experience with Mastercam software
- Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience working with metal and hard plastic materials
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards, including AS9100, is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with ISO standards is a must
