Job Title: OCI Engineer
Duration: 06+ Months Contract (Possible Extensions)
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite)
Job Description:
- Design and deploy Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) networking components including VCNs, Subnets, Security Lists, NSGs, Route Tables, and Internet/NAT Gateways.
- Configure OCI Dynamic Routing Gateways (DRGs) and FastConnect circuits for hybrid connectivity with Azure ExpressRoute.
- Manage active-passive FortiGate NVA deployments in hub VCNs for traffic inspection and east-west segmentation.
- Implement spoke VCN architectures using VCN peering or DRG attachment for workload isolation.
- Deploy and manage OCI Compute instances, Block Volumes, Object Storage, and Load Balancers.
- Configure OCI IAM including Compartments, Groups, Dynamic Groups, and Policy Statements.
- Set up OCI Logging, Monitoring, and Events for observability and alerting.
- Support integration of OCI Heavy Forwarder VMs for Splunk log forwarding to AWS.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for OCI resource provisioning.
- Maintain architecture documentation and contribute to multi-cloud governance artifacts.
Required Skills:
- More than 4 years of OCI experience in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of OCI Networking including VCN, DRG, FastConnect, Security Lists, and NSGs.
- Experience with OCI IAM, Compartments, and Policy Management.
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate or other NVA deployments on OCI.
- Proficiency with Terraform for OCI infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with OCI Compute, Block Volume, Object Storage, and Load Balancing.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional certification preferred.
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures (OCI–Azure or OCI–AWS).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Splunk Heavy Forwarder deployments on OCI.
- Knowledge of OCI Data Science or AI/ML services.
Experience Required: 6-8
Pay: $55.00-$60.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (Toronto District)
