Position Overview: Manufacturing Labourer
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Manufacturing Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will support experienced assemblers, metal fabricators, and machinists with assembly, cutting, and welding of metal components. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized shop, preparing materials, and assisting with equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assembling conveyor components
- Cutting, grinding, and preparing materials
- Operating shop tools such as saws, drill presses, and grinders
- Support shop operations:
- Organizing and cleaning work areas
- Maintaining tools and equipment
- Assisting with loading/unloading materials
Skills You Will Develop
This role provides opportunities to:
- Learn lean manufacturing and advanced metalworking techniques
- Gain proficiency in mechanical systems and metal fabrication techniques
- Develop skills in blueprint reading and precision measuring
- Build technical communication and critical thinking abilities
Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude with a hands-on background
- Experience with hand tools (grinders, drills) and shop tools (saws, welders, drill press)
- Ability to work safely and independently
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered apprentice or pre-apprentice with mechanical skills
- Training in Lift Truck, Aerial Platforms, and WHMIS is an asset
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay: From $18.00 per hour, based on skills and experience
