Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Welding Supervisor to lead our welding operations and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. In this role, you will oversee and assist welding projects, coordinate with manufacturing and construction teams, and supervise skilled welders to deliver exceptional results. Your expertise in various welding techniques, mechanical systems, and blueprint reading will drive productivity and uphold safety protocols across all projects. Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist daily welding activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to plan and execute welding tasks efficiently.
- Oversee the preparation of materials and equipment, including rigging, plasma cutting, press brake operations, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Monitor welding processes such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to ensure precision and consistency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks.
- Conduct inspections using calipers, schematics, and basic math calculations to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Ensure all team members follow safety protocols related to crane operation, forklift handling, ductwork assembly, machining, and other construction activities.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and safety compliance reports.
- Provide mentorship and training for welders on techniques such as plasma cutting, welding (MIG/TIG), rigging procedures, and use of hand tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding supervision within manufacturing or construction environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining, assembly processes, ductwork fabrication, and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, press brake machine operation, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, power tools, hand tools, calipers, and other relevant equipment safely.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques necessary for lifting heavy components with cranes or other lifting devices.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise fabrication work.
- Experience with schematics interpretation for complex assemblies or piping systems.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on safety compliance and team coordination.
