Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the kitchen, ensuring a smooth workflow for the culinary team. Key responsibilities include washing dishes, kitchen equipment, and utensils, as well as performing general kitchen tasks to support chefs and other kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing and Cleaning:
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial dishwashers or by hand.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Remove trash and food waste from the kitchen to designated disposal areas.
Food Preparation Assistance:
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
- Replenish ingredients and supplies as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.
- Ensure the kitchen complies with health and safety standards at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen supervisor.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, but not required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid environment.
