Role Description Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at Infini Health is essential in providing exceptional, patient-centered care while supporting the efficient operation of the clinic in alignment with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards. This dynamic role blends clinical duties—such as patient assessments, medication administration, and accurate documentation—with front-line responsibilities including appointment scheduling, patient communication, and seamless collaboration within the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient-Centered Care & Clinical Support
- Assist physicians and healthcare professionals during assessments, examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care in accordance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Prepare patients and treatment areas to ensure safety and comfort.
2. Medication Administration, Monitoring & Documentation
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor, document, and report patient conditions promptly
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date clinical records
3. Patient Education & Communication
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding care plans, medications, follow-up instructions, and health management strategies
4. Collaboration & Clinical Environment Safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in case discussions to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control and health and safety standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- 1–2 years of clinical or outpatient experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail, particularly in patient information and billing
- Calm under pressure with a customer-focused and professional approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, EMR systems, PACS, and clinic software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Committed to confidentiality and privacy compliance
- Demonstrates adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, and technology proficiency
Working Conditions:
The Registered Practical Nurse will work in an office/clinic setting at our Hamilton clinic location. The role may include physical demands such as extended periods of standing, as well as assisting patients with mobility challenges when entering or exiting the clinic.
