Renegade Mechanical Solutions Inc. specializes in hydraulic repair and general machining based in Calgary. Our focus is to be a solutions-based company and take a problem-solving approach in everything that we do. We are actively looking to fill a role of Full-Time Millwright / Heavy Duty Mechanic.
This position will support projects right from the ground up doing disassembly, inspection, repair and re assembly work. With this unique position you will get to wear a lot of hats and gain a lot of industry exposure. The right person will have a Can-do attitude and must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
Immediate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Rebuild and overhaul cylinders, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and rotating assembly’s
· Mechanical installation & assembly of hydraulics components
· Install and align hydraulic cylinders on heavy-duty trucks and industrial equipment
· Trouble shooting and diagnosis mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures
· Tear down and rebuild hydraulic cylinders (rod, barrel, gland, and seal replacement)
· Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and shop equipment
· Assist with machining operations (lathe, mill, drill press, honing)
· Fabricate brackets, mounts, guards, and fixtures using welding and cutting equipment
· Read engineered drawings and assist with custom fabrication and equipment modifications
· Work with precision tolerances for shafting, bushings, keyways, and press-fit components
· Rigging, Lifting & Equipment Handling
· Rig and move heavy machinery using hoists, forklifts, come-alongs, and cranes
· Replace hoses and fittings on hydraulics components
· Pressure test components and systems to verify repairs Perform flow, pressure, and performance testing on hydraulic components
· Documentation & Reporting sch as Complete work orders, repair notes, and inspection reports
· Follow shop procedures for quality control, safety, and documentation
Safety & Compliance
· Follow OH&S, industrial safety protocols, and shop PPE requirements
· Lockout/Tagout procedures for equipment servicing
· Maintain clean and organized work environment
· Ensure safe practices when working with high-pressure systems
Qualifications and Requirements of a successful candidate:
· Show interest in learning new skills and take on new assignments as the workload dictates
· Must have a high mechanical aptitude.
· Experience using various hand tools (drills, grinders, etc.)
· Ability to read and interpret drawings
· Excellent attention to detail
· Experience in Metal Fabrication and or Design will be an asset
· Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles, motors, drivers, belts and bearings.
· Work independently with little or no supervision.
· Demonstrate ability to operate machinery safely
· Basic understanding of welding processes
· Ability to measure accurately in metric and imperial
· Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electrical and mechanical systems
· Preventative maintenance and repair of diverse equipment
· Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
· Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
· Willingness to travel to other sites for paid training, installations and service work.
· Design experience considerable asset
· General knowledge computer and Microsoft Office programs
· Planning, organization, time-management skills
· Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
· Demonstrate a professional attitude
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
· Valid Driver’s License
· A degree/diploma considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time
Additional pay: Overtime. May occasionally performs extended hours, weekend and holiday work in support of customer service and change requests.
