Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Kitchen Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for kitchen design, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. As a Kitchen Designer, you will collaborate with clients to create functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen layouts that meet their needs and preferences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your design expertise while helping clients transform their living spaces into beautiful, practical kitchens.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their vision, lifestyle, and specific requirements for their kitchen space
- Develop detailed kitchen layouts using design software, incorporating cabinetry, appliances, lighting, and accessories
- Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing the arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting, and other fixtures using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and graphics software
- Develop plans, elevations, cross sections, and detailed drawings, and advise on the selection of colours, finishes, and materials, floor and wall coverings, window treatments, interior and exterior lighting, furniture, and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards
- Present design concepts to clients, explaining choices and making adjustments based on feedback
- Estimate costs and materials required, and may advise on leasing, real estate and marketing
- Source materials, fixtures, and appliances that align with the client's budget and style preferences
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure the seamless execution of the design plan
- Stay current with industry trends, new products, and innovative design solutions
- Prepare accurate project estimates and timelines to ensure timely project completion
- Prepare plans and specifications for the final designs in accordance with current practices and codes
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment
- May direct site work crews and subcontractors.
Skills
- Proven experience in kitchen or interior design is preferred
- Proficiency in design software such as Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or 20/20 Design
- Strong understanding of space planning, color theory, and material selection
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
- Ability to interpret client needs into functional and attractive designs
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices in kitchen design
- Nice-to-have: Certification in interior design or related fields; experience working with custom cabinetry or remodeling projects

Minimum two years as a Kitchen and Interior Designer
Education
Minimum one year of post-secondary
Hours: 35 Hours a week
Pay: Up to $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
