Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sheet Metal Cladding Crew member to join our construction team. This role involves installing and securing sheet metal cladding on various building projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, carpentry, and working with hand tools, with a focus on precision and durability in exterior cladding applications.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and install sheet metal panels according to project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools such as hammers, drills, and snips to shape and secure cladding materials
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Perform heavy lifting of sheet metal panels and related materials safely and efficiently
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weather-tight finishes
- Assist with framing, carpentry, and other related construction tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high safety standards
Experience
- Prior construction experience is preferred, especially in exterior cladding or siding installation
- Proficiency with hand tools used in carpentry and metalworking is essential
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable
- Experience with caulking, sealing, or weatherproofing techniques is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods during installation tasks
- Handyman experience or general carpentry skills are advantageous for versatile job performance
Required / Preferred Tickets (all positions)
- Fall Protection ticket (current, WorkSafeBC-recognized) — required
- AWP (Aerial Work Platform) ticket — boom lift & scissor lift — required or willing to obtain
- Telehandler / Rough Terrain Forklift certification — asset, training available for the right candidate
- WHMIS (current) — required
- Valid BC Driver's License — asset
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
