Secured Building Maintenance is currently seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as On-Call Light Duty Cleaners. This position is governed by the applicable Collective Agreement and is subject to its terms and conditions, including wages, scheduling, seniority, and benefits eligibility.
Position Summary: The On-Call Light Duty Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned facilities. This role is scheduled on an as-needed basis to cover absences, vacancies, or operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste removal
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, kitchens, and common areas
- Replenish supplies such as paper products and soap
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors
- Follow company policies, health and safety regulations, and WHMIS guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Good communication skills in English (additional languages considered an asset)
- Physically capable of performing light-duty cleaning tasks
- Availability to accept on-call shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Union and Scheduling Information:
- This is a unionized position and subject to the terms of the Collective Agreement
- Shifts will be offered based on operational needs and in accordance with seniority provisions
- Wages and working conditions will be in accordance with the current Collective Agreement
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Successful completion of any required background checks or site-specific clearances
