Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant/Cashier to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth food service operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food preparation, cashiering, and customer service.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their food orders
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established standards and recipes
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, upselling menu items when appropriate
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using basic math skills
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet health department standards
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with kitchen duties when required
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Basic math proficiency for cash handling and order calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and sales
